Description

“More than a Century of the Clydesdale Horse in Queensland – Vol. 2” , published by the CCHS Qld Branch, July. 2009. Containing 15 chapters, 288 pages, over 600 pictures, with stories, technical information, statistics, and more. A4-size. In essence, a chronicle of the breeding, showing and working of the Clydesdale horse.

Since Volume 1 was published, a number of the many important people featured have, sadly, passed on. Their passing results in a loss of so much knowledge, information and experience. Consequently, Volume 2 of More than a Century of the Clydesdale Horse in Queensland is a brief attempt to assist in perpetuating some of that information. Also, to probe with greater depth into particular areas of the Clydesdale industry in Queensland. In other words, a record of data for the benefit of those in the future who may have wondered….

This book is one of the best reference books when it comes to the Clydesdale horse. Therefore it is highly recommended to anyone thinking of buying or owns a Clydesdale. Filled with a wealth of information in a very readable format. The stories and histories recorded are unique and an important part of the history of the Clydesdale horse in Queensland.

On a related subject, we have other books that maybe of interest. The Lyn Miller books are full of relevant information – see “Work Horse Handbook” a very informative and easy to read publication.

Another excellent book is the Clydesdale Resource Book
