Description

Lennon Plow & Machinery Co. were famous for the finest quality ploughs in Australia from 1866 – 1885. They were superior in both design and finish. The workmanship was of the highest standard and unequalled in any other manufacturing company.

Additionally, this book serves as an historical record of the Michael and Mary Lennon family. Originally from County Armagh, Ireland, Hugh Lennon was born 1833. An interesting introduction to this book and to the acquiring of Hugh’s amazing skills. He began his working life at age 15 as an apprentice plough maker in Lanarkshire.

Hugh Lennon emigrated to Port Phillip in 1860 with his wife, Isabella. Hugh worked for a pre eminent plough maker for 6 years before forming his own company. Lennon Plow & Machinery Co. was formed in 1866.

One of the features of Hugh’s ploughs was the ability to adjust/adapt them to suit any soil types and conditions. This was a first!

This book is easy to read and has numerous pictures of original ads and other interesting information. A great wealth of information can be found in it’s pages.
