‘Rawling & Co.’, Coburg, were the sole distributors for Victoria and Riverina of John Deere Tractors. This book was researched and collated by Ken Arnold. It is a comprehensive historical record of the companies beginning, around 1886-67, until it’s name no longer appeared in the late 1990’s. Towards the end of the 1960’s, Rawling’s amalgamated their business with Gibbins Farm Implement Co. becoming Gibbon’s – Rawling Company. In 1998, the Rawling’s name was dropped and only the Gibbon’s name was retained.
Rawling’s were known for the exceptional quality and durability of their implements, machinery and waggons. The Table Top, Bow Body and Truck Body Waggons had a great reputation.
Although only 60 pages in length, this book of ‘Rawling & Co.’ contains a multitude of photos and sketches of much of what they manufactured. There are also, many photos of original advertisements. So much detail found in such a relatively small publication.
